Transitional Arrangements – WHS Laws
From the end of March 2024, several regulations will come into effect that have been subject to transitional arrangements that applied to the transition from our old to new WHS laws in Western Australia.

Audiometric Testing
Do you have workers who are frequently required to use personal protective equipment (hearing protection) to protect them from the risk of hearing loss?
For many of our clients with operations in Western Australia, the requirement to conduct audiometric testing will come into effect on 31 March 2024.
The WHS Regulations require the PCBU to conduct audiometric testing of workers frequently exposed to excessive exposure to noise.
Audiometric testing will need to be provided for the worker within 3 months of the worker commencing work and at least every 2 years thereafter.
For practical guidance on how to manage health and safety risks associated with workplace noise, view the WorkSafe code of practice here.
