AOHSEAB Accredits ECU Course Incorporating OHS with Environmental Health
ECU Course Gets Certification for Environmental OH&S Course Initiative
Edith Cowan University’s Bachelor of Health Science (Major in Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety) has been certified by the Australian OH&S Education Accreditation Board (AOHSEAB).
The AOHSEAB Panel determined that the course merged Environmental Health and Occupational Health and Safety in an innovative way to provide the information, abilities, and professional practice required in an authorised program. ECU was congratulated by the AOHSEAB Board on its initiative.
AOHSEAB CEO Congratulates ECU
The Australian Institute of Health and Safety’s CEO, David Clarke, congratulated ECU for their continuous commitment to OHS education, stating that:
“One of the cornerstones of an effective and successful health and safety profession is a strong, evidence-based higher education system delivering high-quality programs that are evolving as our own knowledge base evolves. The work that our universities do in partnership with the Accreditation board, provides a very strong basis for this.”
Accreditation of professional OH&S education programs is required to provide a foundation for professional certification by recognising educational programs that address the required knowledge and skills for professional certification and to ensure that graduates of OH&S professional education programs are adequately prepared to enter the workplace as an entry-level OHS professional.
ISO & QHSE Management Systems
Quality, Health, Safety, and the Environment are all important factors to consider. A QHSE Management System is a quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management system. It’s a management tool for directing, managing and developing the organisation. This method keeps you informed about any changes in legislation and regulations, ensuring that you never face a fine, an occupational accident, or other problems.
